Research and innovation

IMT Lille Douai’s research and innovation activities ensure that the courses continually adapt to the rapid developments in engineering science and techniques.

Students are involved in the research laboratories throughout their studies. They acquire the foundations of innovation management on projects sponsored by companies and through the unrestricted use of the school’s FabLab. They can pursue their entrepreneurship project further with the incubator and benefit from a developed study programme for student entrepreneurs.

IMT Lille Douai students can supplement their knowledge through research training.

The FabLab at the IMT Lille Douai opened in 2016 and is dedicated to innovation, collaborative work and raising awareness of current digital manufacturing tools. The FabLab is open to everyone: staff, students and APUI project leaders, as well as makers outside the institution, private individuals, associations and companies.

The FabLab provides the opportunity to make objects yourself, share your skills and learn from IMT Lille Douai staff and other participants. Courses have been set up in how to use the platform’s resources (3D scanner, 3D printer, CAD/CA drawing software, laser cutter), so that projects led by participants and by the FabLab can be developed.

The FabLab is funded by the Agglomeration Community of Douai and the Hauts-de-France Regional Council.
