The workshop “Diversity in Higher Education Institutions” provides an introduction and overview over the topic of diversity. It aims to clarify what diversity is, focusing on the contents and didactical principles of teaching diversity; and, it discusses strategies of institutionalising diversity at institutes of higher education, also addressing the interrelation of diversity and internationalisation.

Three questions are at the centre of the workshop :

  1. What is diversity and how do I teach it?
  2. How can I contribute to the institutionalisation of diversity at my institute of higher education?
  3. Is there are relation between diversity and internationalisation in a university context ?

The workshop format combines lecture and interactive exchanges. The institutionalisation of diversity at the Hochschule Hannover will serve as a best practice example. The workshop will be done in English
