Railenium

Railenium, the Institut de Recherche Technologique (IRT) of the railway sector, brings together the skills and resources of nine research centres, eighteen companies in the railway sector and two network managers. Its objective is to improve the performance of the rail systems and trains of the future and to strengthen the competitiveness of the rail sector and its industry internationally through innovation.

CaPPA

The CaPPA laboratory of excellence Physics and Chemistry of the Atmospheric Environment draws on the multidisciplinary expertise of 7 research teams (LOA, PC2A, PhLAM, SAGE, LPCA, ICARE, LASIR) to promote metrological innovation in the field of the atmospheric environment. Its first area of interest is in the “aerosol” system and its precursors to better understand their role on climate forcing and the hydrological cycle, and its second is the evolution of air quality at global, regional and local scales, with specific studies devoted to radionuclides.

The Fédération de Recherche Transports Terrestres & Mobilité [Land Transport & Mobility

The Fédération de Recherche Transports Terrestres & Mobilité [Land Transport & Mobility Research Federation] (FR3733) works to develop multidisciplinary synergies, to pool resources and personnel, to support the scientific resourcing essential to develop new and more generic knowledge, so that there is a unified response to regional, national and European calls. It is supported by the CNRS, the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University, the University of Lille and Centrale Lille Institut.

LGCgE

The LGCgE brings together teams of researchers. The laboratory offers multidisciplinary research to meet the challenges of sustainable construction, development and ecology. This means it responds to the issues raised by construction, sustainable development, the safety of works and infrastructure, rational energy management, protection of natural resources (especially water resources), management of contaminated sites and biodiversity.

La Fédération de la Plasturgie et des Composites

La Fédération de la Plasturgie et des Composites is the representative organisation of the plastics processing sector. It brings together and represents 3,550 companies, totalling more than 130,000 employees, and defines the sector’s professional approach.

Appointed by the ministry in charge of the environment, the Laboratoire Central de Surveillance de la Qualité de l’Air (LCSQA) [Central Laboratory for Air Surveillance and Quality] is the body responsible for ensuring the technical coordination of the air quality monitoring system in France. It is the fruit of a strong collaboration between three partners: INERIS, the Laboratoire National de métrologie et d’Essais (LNE) [National Metrology and Testing Laboratory] and IMT Nord Europe.

PC2A laboratory

The research activities of the PC2A laboratory are undertaken by around sixty people in three research teams: Physicochemistry of Combustion, Physicochemistry of the Atmosphere and Nuclear Safety. They focus on laser diagnostics and chemical mechanisms in flames and clean processes, combustion in engines, homogeneous and heterogeneous atmospheric reactivity, theoretical chemistry and air quality. PC2A is part of the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research in Environmental Sciences (IRePSE).
